Missions

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 28:19

The purpose of the missions programs of Shiloh Baptist Church are to train and equip ordinary people to go and do extraordinary things in the name of Jesus so that all might see, hear and experience God’s love in tangible ways.

Some trips may require more specific training or experience, but being a born-again believer is the major prerequisite for missions at Shiloh. We also require that you are an active church member at Shiloh or that you are active in your own local church, and have the approval of your pastor to attend.

Shiloh partners with the International Mission Board (IMB), the North American Mission Board (NAMB), and the Baptist State Convention of NC (BSCNC) to help spread the Gospel and serve locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Local Missions

Through building bridges in the local Cleveland and Johnston County community,
Shiloh strategically leads and partners with ministries that care for the most vulnerable in our community.
Through equipping the saints (you), we are able to show the love and compassion of Jesus to a broken and hurting community. We believe that the key to transforming lives for Jesus is through the context of the relationships we build in our neighborhoods.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

We will help you find the intersection of passion and purpose in your life which God has specifically gifted you to serve the Kingdom on our upcoming missions locally!

Shiloh Baptist Men

This men's fellowship and service group meets monthly (2nd Tuesday at 7:00 pm) to pray together, and plan regular missions events in the multipurpose room.

Women on Missions

This women's fellowship and service group meets on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. monthly (1st Monday of each month) to plan missions projects and participate in Bible Study.

Regional Missions

Serve the Kingdom just down the road on our upcoming missions regionally!
The regional team is made up of those who are called serve here in the Southeast region.
This would included specific missions projects, disaster relief teams, and other more regional efforts.

Trammel, Virginia

Through our partnering with North Carolina Baptists on Mission (NCBM) and their development of the Appalachian Coalfields Ministry we are able to serve our Lord in places of need such as Trammel, Virginia. Here in this area, just steps from our door, we minister both physically and spiritually to people in some of the poorest areas of our nation. Teams serve through projects such as children's ministry, community feeding events, music, construction, and Christmas gift/ backpack distribution just to name a few. Most of these trips take place over a weekend, so those with scheduling concerns can still serve their Savior on the mission field.

National Missions

Is God calling on you to serve outside of the Southeast? We invite you to join us on our upcoming missions experience nationally!
The national team is made up of those who are called to serve around our nation. There is much to do and many souls that need to hear of the Gospel, all without a passport in hand. Come join us!
Many of these experiences are made possible by our partnership with the North American Mission Board  (NAMB).

New York, New York

It’s the “Big Apple.” Uptown and downtown, boroughs and buildings, food and fashion, districts and diversity. It’s home to Broadway, Times Square, Wall Street and the Statue of Liberty. It’s the backdrop to some of our nation’s greatest triumphs and most devastating tragedies. The people here are among the most diverse in the world, but they all have the same basic needs in common: to have hope, to find purpose, to be loved. Oh, what a difference you as a missionary can have on mission and can make in nation’s largest city. Join us as we serve along side of our NYC church planting partners in ways such as food and clothing distribution, VBS, neighborhood projects,
church leadership training and more!

International Missions

Shiloh impacts the world through the efforts of our indigenous global partners, such as the International Missions Board (IMB), who are multiplying disciples and meeting spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of our brothers and sister in third world countries through various community development initiatives as church planting,  meeting medical needs, child sponsorship, pastor training / equipping, delivering fresh water, business development, education, and more.

Quetzaltenango, Guatemala

Shiloh Baptist in partnership with North Carolina Baptists on Mission (NCBM), works to share the Gospel message and meet the needs of souls in Guatemala. By working closely with the IICD (International Indigenous Community Development) we are able to send teams to Guatemala in an effort to reach the Quiche people for Christ at the Good Shepherd Ministry Center in the city of Quetzaltenango. We are also blessed to partner with the Baptist Children's Homes of NC in the operation of the Good Shepherd Children's Home, also in Quetzaltenango. There are many ways to serve through these partnerships. Childcare, construction, medical missions are just some of the ways we minister here.
